HURRICANE AT SAMOA

NEW YORK, February 11

A cable message from Honolulu reports that the Manua Islands and American Samoa were swept by a hurricane, and every building was levelled. The loss of life is not known.

SAN FRANCISCO, February 13,

A hurricane, a tidal wave, and an earthquake in American Samoa wiped out the whole of the villages. The shipping was destroyed, the roofs of the houses carried a distance of 10 miles, the soil torn from the coral rocks, and coffins left exposed. The loss of life was small.
