AUCKLAND HOSPITAL BOARD.
AUCKLAND, November 25. Mr J. M. Mennie has resigned the chair - ! manship of the Hospital Board, as a protest against the board’s decision to provide heating by steam in preference to electricity, stating that he regarded the resolution as a vote of censure upon the architect and engineer, who strongly advised electric heating. The architect had previously stated that the contract for electric lighting included the installation of heating by electric radiators, but the , I members of the board denied that such I authority was given. j
