Since his arrival in New Plymouth Mr. G. Tabor has done a good deal to create an interest in life-saving, and he has again demonstrated his interest by generously donating a handsome shield for competition amongst the life-saving clubs in the North Island (says the Taranaki Herald). The competition for the shield, which is to bo known as the Tabor Shield, will be held annually, and the shield cannot be won outright.
