LEGISLATURE ACT.

EXPENSIVE. BREACHES. STRATFORD, November 27. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day, before Mr Kendrick, S.M., Alan Alexander Cuthberton was charged with a breach of the Legislature Act in that he did sign his name as a witness to a signature upon a claim for enrolment without having seen such signature written by the claimant. Two other similar charges were laid against the defendant. In one he pleaded guilty and not guilty to the others. After hearing evidence the Magistrate fined him £lO on each of two charges. The informations were laid by the registrar.
