CZAR OF RUSSIA
ATTEMPT ON HIS LIFE. LONDON, June 18. While the Czar and his _ family were journeying to Kishineff the pilot train was wrecked by a bomb. The engine and carriages were derailed and several persons injured. ST. PETERSBURG, June 18. The Czar and his family have arrived at Tsarskoe-Selo. June 19. An official denial is given to the rumour that the accident to the pilot engine was due to a bomb directed against the Czar s life. It was due to an undetected defect in the engine. Despite the official denial, the newspapers only expatiate on the mystery of the accident to the Czar’s train. The railway management declares that it was due to a criminal outrage.
