When Mr Sellers was making an application to the Westland Licensing Committee an Wednesday for a reduction in the fee of an accommodation house licenso, the magistrate asked why. if there was so little business doing, the license was taken out at all. Mr Sellers (says the Groyraouth Star) naively replied that the applicant wanted a license to stop being pulled up for sly-grogging. The reason appeared a sufficient one. as the committee promptly granted a reduction of the fee from £lO to £5.
