FEDERATED SEAMEN'S UNION
SYDNEY, April 29. The outcome of a discussion at the recent conference of the Federated Seamen’s Unions of Australasia as to whether application should be made to the Arbitration Court for the cancellation of the award, and to revert to the old method of a strike as a means of adjusting grievances, is that the executive has circularised all branches emphasising the fact that the union definitely decided to abide by the award, and members are duly warned of the intention of the executive to strictly enforce the rules. In every case where breaches are proved they would have no hesitation in inflicting penalties.
