Considerable interest was manifested today in the polling upon the proposal of the Borough Council to borrow £24,000 for the carrying out of a scheme for supplying electricity for lighting andpporerw r er purposes and £6OOO for water supply extensions and improvements. The proposal was carried by a majority of 381, the voting ■ being : For the proposal 57 0 Against the proposal 129 The Mayor, in declaring the result, congratulated the ratepayers upon having taken the most progressive stop that the borough had taken since the adoption of the water supply system.
