BOWLING.

B«er*t*ri«> ar» r«quitted to forward particular! •i games played and of forthcoming match*i. ROTES BY JIGS. The Dunedin Centre’s interclub matches were continued on Saturday, when the weather proved fine. The greens were somewhat dull after so much rain, but the tine day put everyone in good spirits, and some interesting games resulted. The following shows the winners and losers in each section : Association Section. Dunedin 61 beat Taieri 53. \ E Valley 62 beat Hoslyn 58. Caledonian 76 beat Green Island <O. Otago 58 boat Fairfield 51. Outrain 74 beat Kaituna 60. Wakari 62 beat St. Clair 47 Kaikorai 65 beat Pore Chalmers 51. Centre Section. Dunedin 77 beat Taieri 43. Hoslyn 63 beat N.K. Val-.ey u o. Caledonian 92 bear Green .island (4. Otago 102 beat West Harbour 65. ' CavL-rsham 66 beat Kaituna 60. i Moruingtou 66 beat Balmacewen 4/. District Section, j Moruingtou 64 beat Port Chalmers 54. : Dunedin 67 beat Taieri 50. j Kaikorai 68 beat Bulmacewen 51. N.K. Valley 64 boat Hoslyn 47. Fan-field 54 beat Otago 52. Kaituna 55 beat Cayersham 43. There were one or two surprises in some of the sections, notably the defeat of Kaituna by Outran) in ttie association section by no less than 14 points. The defeat of lioslyn by Valley was not anticipated. Kaikorai scored a meritorious win over Port Chalmers. The-playing strength of the latter club does not appear to be quite up to the standard of a lew years ago. in the centre section ivaiiuna went down I before Cavcnsham, and Mornington had a i decisive win against Bulmacewen. Here Hoslyn got home against tho Valley team. I ' ], tl the district section Bulmacewen was ! deicated by Kaikorai, and N.E. Valley had ! a very decisive win against Hoslyn. Dunedin Club scored m ail three sections against the Taieri Club, which is not keeping up its old reputation this year. Caledonian iiad a bye in the district section, but won its matcncs in tho other two. Kaikorai ansi Mornington won in their two sections. N.E. Valley and Otago had each two wins and one loss; Fairfield, Caversham, and Wakari one win and one loss each; Hoslyn qnd Kaituna one win and two losses each; and Green Island, Port Chalmers, and Balmacewen two losses each and no wins. Once again the singular change which comes over a team occasionally when an adjournment lor tea is taken was in evidence on Saturday on the Taieri Green. In the game between W. Allan (Taieri) and J. Johnson (Dunedin) the Taieri players had rattled on 16 to three singles by the Dunedin players, this being at the 11th head. On resuming, Johnson and his men got to work, and raised their total from 5 to 26, while the Taieri score remained unchanged. At the final end Taieri scored a single, making the total : Dunedin 26, Taieri 17. The following table shows the wins and losses of each club in the various sections for which they have entered teams: Association. Centre. District, w. 1. w. 1. w. 1. The champions of last season have had ' still another defeat. When the Southland—- : To Rangi fixture came up for decision the To Rangi Green was found to be soft in parts, and an arrangement was made whereby lour rinks should play on each green. ' At the Southland Green tho To Rangi players were hopelessly to the bud, but on their own green they fared better, and won but not by enough to balance the loss at Southland. The most interesting game of the match was that between rinks skipped by J. Rennie and T. Pryde respectively. Pryde was, last season, one of ; To Rungi’s best players, and in the match under discussion ho played a very line game. Rennie, however, was in good form too, and . his team wag just a few points too good for Pryde’s men. I The Nortbonders paid a visit to the young- ! est club—lnvercargill. Thanks to doublefigure wins by Wallace and Ham at rinks No. 5 and 6,. the visitors had a fairly substantial win. W. Wilson, formerly of Te i Rangi, was the only winning skip among ; the visitors. Ho snatched a victory at the ' last end, carrying tho jack away trom his i opponents with a beautiful shot just when | it appeared to be a certain victory for I Yates. Wilson scored 2 and won by 1 I point. Yates’s old friends of the Calo- ! doniun Club will be pleased to hear that lie is playing in first-class stylo this season. ! Patterson, from Oumaru, lias had bud luck since he came down here. Serious illness ; in the family has, except rarely, prevented I his putting in an appearance on Southland , Green. i We arc hoping for a good many Dunedin visitors to our tournament at New Year. DOMINION ASSOCIATION. A meeting of tho Executive Committee ?of tiie Dominion of New Zealand Bowling 1 Association was hold in the secretary’s office ! last night, and was attended by Messrs J.

J. Marlow (chairman), J. H. Hancock, W. C. Allnutt, C. R. Smith, and J. Allan.
