At the hearing of the libel ease Denham Brothers versus the Queensland Daily Mail, the reporter who reported Mr Bowman’s speech gave evidence that the cause of his making a mistake ;n his reporting was the way in which Mr Bow tman spoke, and his misunderstanding Mr Bowman’s words. The acoustic properties of the chamber had nothing to do with it. The case is proceeding. November 17-
In the libel case Denham Bros, versus the Brisbane Daily Mail, a verdict was given for plaintiffs for £460 and costs. The £450 awarded to the plaintiffs consists of £3OO for D. F. Denham and £l5O for Denham Bros.
The jury added a rider that the evidence completely exonerated the plaintiffs on the charges made against them in the Legislative Assembly.
