SAFETY AT SEA

LONDON, November 12

The President of the Board of Trade (Mr S. Buxton) welcomed the delegates to the Safety of Life at Sea Conference at the Foreign Office. The Hon. Thomas Mackenzie was among those present. The King sent a message cordially welcoming the delegates. As a sailor himself, he had had personal experience of many of the matters that would come before them. In arranging an international agreement on the measures necessary to remove or diminish the perils of travelling by sea they would confer untold benefit on humanity throughout the world. 1
