KAITANGATA S.M. COURT. A sitting of the Kaitangata Magistrate's Court' was hold on the lord, before Mr J. K. Bartholomew, S.M. James Taylor, charged with allowing two horses to wander in a public street at Kaitangata, was lined ss, with costs (7s). Harry Hunt was charged with being the father of an unborn illegitimate child, and with failing to make provision for the support of it when born.—He pleaded not guilty. —Mr Grigor appeared for the complainant, who asked that the court £♦ cleared. —The Magistrate said that he had no power, but thought that it the public had any decency they would leave the court. —They then left.—Evidence having been given by complainant, Ur Beard, and other witnesses, and defendant, the Magistrate ordered defendant to give security by bond :o tho Public Trustee, with one approved surety of TICK), and to pay costs —solicitor’s £2 2s, Dr Beard’s £1 la. In tho case of James Morrison v. George Jarvie, judgment was given by default for £1 11s, with costs (13s). " „ One old-age pension was granted for tho full amount.
