ORDER FOR MAINTENANCE.

(Fkou Ock Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, November 15. A rather unusual case was brought before Mr Crooko. S.M., when a Chinaman named Joe Roy appeared on a charge of disobeying a maintenance order to provide for his European wife and seven children. Mr Mack ay appeared for complainant, and stated that the arrears amounted to £lßl 5s 6d, and that considerable difficulty had been experienced in obtaining and' money from him, Joe Poy spending several periods in gaol rather than pay. Defendant expressed a disinclination to pay his arrears, but offered to pay 15s per ■week from then on. The case was adjourned for a month to enable him to pay something off the amount.
