INVERCARGILL BAND CONTEST.
INVERCARGILL, November 17. 'The band contest opened to-day, with good attendances at each session. The following are the results B fiat Bass— C. Bartlett (Eighth Regimental, Invercargill), 43; G. Dale (Bluff), 38. Double B flat Bass —J. J. Collins (Second Regimental, Timaru), 44; R. Brown (Dominion, Invercargill), A. Eraser (Kaikorai), 43. B flat Cornet—JO. Sullivan (Lyttelton Marine), 43; W. 11. Osborne (Timaru), 42; J. Humphries (Dominion), 41. In the “B ’’ Grade selection, “ The Martyrs,” the 10th Regimental Band (Camara), the Hibernian (Invercargill), the Bluff, and the Mataura played. The final will be played to-morrow.
