CHARGE OF MURDER

NEW YORK, October 30,

At Plymouth (Massachusetts) Mrs Eaton, ' the wife of the late Admiral Eaton, who died from poisoning, was tried and acquitted of her husband’s murder. The Admiral bore a reputation for ecceutricity, and was noted for. his strange orders while serving in the navy, and he was also occasionally intoxicated. His wife, it was alleged, administered poison while the Admiral was undergoing medical treatment. The case bore some resemblance to the Maybrick trial. Both the Admiral and his wife were prominent in American society. The case for the defence was the absence of irotive, Mrs Eaton losing ihe Admiral’s pension by his death.
