similar scrub land in the locality, -was scrubbed, ploughed, and enclosed with rabbit-proof fence by the farmers in the district. This area has been handed to the department for from five to seven years, to conduct experiments to find out if the land can be brought into profitable use. The farmers undertake the labour, and the department controls the experiments and provides the seeds, lime, etc., necessary for the experiments.
