Strong exception is taken by delegates to the Stonemasons’ Conference, now sitting m Wellington, to the character of the reports regarding their trade which appear in' the Labour Journal. It was stated (says the Post) that the 'reports did not disclose the true position of affairs, aud the conference decided that the union secretaries should supply the department each month with information on which to base the district reports in the Journal. A bit of a sensation was provided at Wanganui East on Thursday, -when the somewhat unusual incident was witnessed of a motor car - chasing a bolting horse with trap attached: The horse was overtaken, and the owner of the’car promptly jumped out and stopped the animal, thus averting perhaps serious consequences.
