ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.

LONDON, November 3,

Sir Clements Markham is appealing for funds for Captain Stackhouse’s expedition to explore the coastline of the Boss Quadrant. He says that Captain Stackhouse’s plans arc a continuation of Captain Scott’s researches from the M’Murdo Sound base. He adds that w r ith a stout ship and trained and resolute navigators and favourable seasons there is a prospect of another great important addition to our knowledge of the Antarctic.
