Mr Guiney, who accompanied the New Zealand football team to America, speaking at Stanford University, compared American and New Zealand journalism. He said the Americans published sensational news whether it was true or not, whereas New Zealanders were educated by papers that were in a high degree literary and of great interest. The New Zealand papers wanted facts that were not coloured.
