HASTINGS, October 22. The Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Jubilee Show was opened to-day in glorious weather. The entries constitute a record. Southdown ewe—Messrs Nelson Bros. Lincoln ram, under 30 months—Mr J. Pern,’. Lincoln ram, over 30 months—Mr R. D. D. M’Lean. Shropshire ewe—Mr G. L. Marshall. Shropshire ram—Mr G. L. Marshall. The People’s Day of the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Jubilee Show was spoiled by heavy rain, which set in early this morning and continued throughout the day. The attendance, though large, was materially affected by the downpour. , The following additional championships were awarded : Collie—Mr C. L. Bridges (Wellington). Hack—Mr F. A. Price (From Qua Own Correspondent.^ NAPIER, October 22 Probably the most important transaction at the Jubilee Show to-day was the purchase by Mr Simpson, of Hunterville, jl Mr Douglas M‘Lean’s shorthorn bull Roan Cherry Oswald, 27, months, by Copper King (2265).
