SYDNEY, October 25.

At the Congregational Union meeting the committee appointed to report on Church Union stated that consequent on the Methodists failing to re-appoint their section to the committee, the Presbyterians had resolved to proceed no further at present in the matter, but were prepared to discuss the future with the Congregationalists. Negotiations were therefore likely to be reopened shortly. The Congregational Union appointed a committee to confer with both Methodists and Presbvterians. LONDON, October 24.

Negotiations for the ultimate union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church have entered their final stage. Representatives arc now meeting in Edinburgh to formulate a constitution.
