WESTERN DISTRICT.
I The annua: meeting of the Western District A. ami P. Association, held last week, was presided over by Mr Geo. Carmichael. The annual report and balance sheet showed that the financial position of the association• was sound, there being- a credit balance of £237 11a 4d. At the Summer Show, held at Thornbury, the stock was well up to former years. There was a slight deficit in tile year’s working on both Summer and Winter Shows, due to the increased prizelist. The prize money at the Sununei Show amounted to £l4O Is 6d, as compared with £ll9 12s the previous year. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —President, Mr Geo. Carmichael; vice-presidents, Mr 0. Haywood; auditors—, Messrs G. Robertson and L. W. PeteheM; treasurer, Mr P. C. Mills; committee — Messrs .1. B. M’Lcan, Jas. Hamilton, F. M‘Kay, R. Foster. A. WAITAHUNA FARMERS' CLUB. At the annual meeting of* the Waitahuu*
Farmers’ Club, held last week, Mr T. Corry presided over a good attendance. The report stated that although the annual Show was not a financial success, it was in other respects successful. The entries were larger than at previous Shows, and the quality of all classes of stock, especially sheep, was of a high standard. The balance sheet shows a credit balance of £4l 13s lid—a slight decrease on last, year’s balance. The sheep dip was largely patron sed during the season, the number recorded being 12,545, which is the highest yet attained. The membership increased greatly throughout the year. Thanks were due to donors of special prizes and donations. The Chairman, in moving the adoption of the annual report, and balance sheet, said that there was still room for more members, and he urged the farmers of the district that were not ,mem here to join the club, and then they oo ild discuss matters pertaining to their interests and to the district as a whole. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows; —President, Mr A. M'Corkindale; vice-president, Mr D. Murdoch; auditor, Mr P„ Caw (re-elected); committee —Messrs W. Crozier, J. Scott, T Corry, P.
