CLYDESDALE HORSE SOCIETY.
The General Purposes Committee of the Clydesdale Horse Society met in the regis. tered office of the society on Thursday afternoon, when there were present: Mcssry, J. A. Jolmsfcono (in the chair), Jas. WT Blair, \V. J. J. Charters, and Geo. C. Thomson. The following were elected members of tlio society James Kilpatrick, Craigia Mains, Ayr, Scotland; North Island—J. N. Massey, Puni, Pukekohe;’ J. C. O’Rorke, Boa View, Oauni Taranaki; South Island— James Drain, Cleverly. Spar Bush; John Dunipacc, Roscdalo Farm, Dipton; Thoa. H. Edwards, Norfolk Lea. Tapanai. IVm.
Accounts amounting to £67 19s were passed for payment it was arranged that the annual general meeting of members should be held in Palmerston North during the run of the Winter Wuow there, and the afternoon of Tuesday, .Tune 17. was fixed upon as being the most suitable date The Secretary reported that the balance on deposit and in the bank was £651 £s 8d Mr Johnstone reported that the 50gsChallenge Cup, presented by his firm. Messrs' Wright. Stephenson and Co., •had come to hand, and lie invited the committee to inspect it. The committee expressed the opinion that never before had it seen a cup so handsome and chaste, and tCat it was well worth while making a groat effort to win.
