lii 12 years the fruit export industry in Victoria has grown from £6OOO to £153,000. The Director of Agriculture in that State said recently that if the growers were prepared to help themselves by improving the methods of packing and grading the Government was prepared to assist them to put tho marketing on a proper basis. Commissioner Richards, chief commanding officer of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, will conduct an important congress in Wellington from June 3 to June 10 (says the New Zealand Times). The commissioner will bo supported by 350 officers. This is the first time a congress of such magnitude lias been held in New Zealand. Members and adherents of the army will be present from all parte of the dominion, and a great forward movement is expected ae a result of the congress
