GISBORNE TRAMWAYS.
GISBORNE, April 16. The municipal tramway.-* were opened i to-day by the Mayor (.Mr Pettie), who i drove a car over the first section, j General satisfaction was expressed with ; the smoothness, working, and easy acceleration of the Edison storage battery cars. At a public function congratulations were offered to Gisborne in leading the dominion in this form of traction. The public are being treated to joy rides in the tram cars this afternoon.
