ARBITRATION COURT.
EXPENSIVE BREACH OF AWARD. AUCKLAND, April 14. In the Arbitration Court to-d:iy Mr Justice Sim delivered judgment in a case against Brook Bros:, proprietors of the Windsor Rink, who were charged that they paid members of. their orchestra less than £3 per week. The musicians received £3 and refunded 30s a week, and had seats to that value reserved for their friends. The court imposed a fine of £2O. Five musicians who were cited as parties to the case were each fined £2. COMPENSATION CASE. AUCKLAND, April 14. When the case of Marjory Hay, Te Puke (Dr Bamford), William and Tom Harry, Te Puke (Mr Tunks), a claim for compensation for the loss of plaintiff’s husband while in the defendants’ employ was called on. Dr Bamford intimated that an agreement had been arrived at, the defendants having agreed to pay £350. Dr Bamford asked the court to direct as to the distribution of the money. The court awarded the plaintiff £iso, the balance, less costs, to be paid over to the Public Trustee, and the capital and income applied to the maintenance of plaintiff’s daughter, 15 years of age.
