LATE MR MORGAN

NEW YORK, April 14. The remains of the late Mr Pierpont Morgan were interred in the mausoleum at Hartford (Connecticut). Crowds attended St. George’s Episcopal Church, New York, where the funeral service was read. The Bishops of Boston, Connecticut, and New York officiated. Senator Root and Mr Choate (a former Ambassador to England) were amongst the pall-bearers. April 20. The late Mr Pierpont Morgan’s will does not state the amount of his property. Mr Morgan, jun., gets the residue, less 20.000,000d01. that have been left for various family and charitable purposes. The works of art are left to the son with the injunction to make a permanent disposition thereof if he so wishes in such fashion as will best give instruction and pleasure to the American people. Mrs Morgan receives an income of £1,000,000 in trust funds, with power to dispose of the capital sum at her death, and also the New York residence and country residence. Three million dollars are left outright to Mr Morgan, jun., and other large sums to the sons-in-law and married daughters. When the will was opened it was found to contain a striking confession of religious faith : “I rest in the sufficiency of Christ’s atonement.”,, LONDON, April 14. A memorial service for the late Mr Pierpont Morgan was held in Westminster Abbey. The King and Queen were represented.
