rt i; i/L<urt » Motto: “Excelsior.” COUNTRY MEMBERS REPRESENTATIVE’S REPORT. The usual fortnightly meeting of the Invercargill D.L.F. Club was held m the Y.M.C.A. Rooms on October 30. Country visitors for the evening were;— Loreen Erolb Candalaria, Frances, and Elusive. This was open meeting, and papers were numerous. The “ pursuit ” papers remaining from the town v. country debate were first read. These, which were of excellent merit, were written by Marnys, Elmo Athol, Curtis, Melvin, and Rollifer. Then followed the open meeting papers " After the Ball ’’ and “ The Procession Passes,” bv Ladv Evelyn; “ Breakfast at 7" and “When Husbands Fall in Love,” by Biddy Maloney; 4 Friendship,” by Lonesome Pine; Melodian Mending,” by A Telescope ; and “ Basement Reflections on Cooking,” by A Country Maid. All the papers were selected except the last two named. With tivo or three exceptions the contributions were all humorous, and caused much laughter. Owing to the number of papers on hand articles received from Marnys, Lex, and Billy Burlow are to be read next meeting. November 27 will be devoted to Magazine Evening. We are looking forward to many contributions from our country comrades. We shall be very glad of any short items of interest; but they must be original. If you have any spare time, comrades, just think of our Magazine Evening, and send a few lines. Many thanks arc due to you all for your support in the past, and we are grateful to vou for vour generosity. BLA'CK-EYED SUSAN. Elsie Boxall, Tisbury, Invercargill South.
