Prince Gustav Dikran. a political exile from Albania, who arrived in Auckland recently, attended a meeting of tho Anck land Presbytery, and was extended a welcome by the Moderator (the Rev. James Milne). ~ In acknowledging tho welcome (says the correspondent of the Post) tho visitor said he was pleased to proclaim himself a Presbyterian. His father had been converted from Mohammedism by a Presbyterian missionary, and for two years he secretly espoused the religion. Then, however, the Sultan of- Turkey became aware of the fact, and the speaker's father was poisoned by means of a cup of coffee. The prince mentioned that his ambition was to become a medical missionary and return to his country ae a naturalised British subject, under tho auspices of the Presbyterian Missionary Board.
