NAVY LEAGUE.

TIMABU, May 7. At the second annual meeting of the Timaxu Centre of the Navy League last night the report stated that the adult members numbered 253, school children members 212, and the ladies' branch (believed to be the largest in the overseas dominions) 120. The year began with a deficit of £lB 18a, and closed with a credit of £ls 176 9d. The most important work was said to have been the propaganda among schools by means of lectures and prizes for essays. Mr J. Craigie. M.P. (president), said he would do what he could to obtain a larger training ship than the Amokura, which he stated had more boys on board from Timaru than from any other centre. Mr Craigie was unanimously re-elected president and Mr G. Arber secretary, the latter being highly praised for his zeal in the cause. -
