SALE OF AYRSHIRE BULLS AT LANARK.
At the forty-first annual show and sale of Ayrshire bulls at Lanark. Scotland, there wore sold 241 Ayrshires and 33 shorthorns. For the second time in succession Mr Osborne, Morton Mains, was placed first with an excellent bull by Auchenbrain Proud Favourite. This animal was bought by the Scottish Clo-oporative Wholesale Society at £29. The highest price of the day, however, was got by MV Scott, Netherhall, for his second prize stirk, which went to Mr Allan, Bench an. at £65. This one was got by Nethevall General Toward Mr Douglas, Auchlochan, got £4O from Mrs M‘Gregor, Lesser Linn, for one of his lot from a milk-
record cow, and a specially good two-year-old from ,Mr Howie, Hillhouse, whicih was first last year a.t Ayr and second at Inverness, irode £35 to Mr Stevenson, Chape*croft, Castle-Uouglas. At the aiie there was the largest attendance ever seen. A very active trade was met for all classes but the numbers were far short of requirements. Prices were as nearly as possible similar to those of last year, when the sale was hold two months later. —North British. Agriculturist
