WAITAHUNA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

The anniversary services in connection I with the Waitahuna Presbyterian Church were held on April 21, the Kev. G. H. Balfour being the preacher. The church was filled at both services. On Monday the annual social was held, when the Kev. J. S. Ponder presided. The meeting was opened by the singing of the 135 rd Psalm, alter which the Rev. Mr Durwand (of Lawrence) engaged, shortly, in prayer. The Secretary (Mr R. M'Corkindale) read the Deacons’ Court report, Mr R. M'Caw the session report, and Mr Garden the financial statement, showing the receipts for the year to have been £331 7s 9d, the disbursements £326 2s Bd, leaving an available balance, after providing for trust account, of £1 7s lid. The speakers for the evening were the Rev. G. H. Balfour (Dunedin) and the Rev. Mr Durward (Lawrence). Several anthems were rendered by the choir under the leadership of the choirmaster (Mr J. H. Patrick), while solos were given in a very acceptable mannop by Mr P. Brown, the Misses M’Kenzle and Sim, and Mr Robert Soott. Miss V. Patrick presided at the organ. Refreshments were handed round, and an enjoyable meeting was brought to a close by the pronouncing of the benediction.
