A 12-year-old lad named Pudncy, who was hired out from an orphanage home in Wellington to a local settler, with whom he had a comfortable home, absconded a fortnight ago. On Friday afternoon ho was discovered at tho stables at the rear of premises at Pahiatua, where ha had been living for 11 days, obtaining supplies of eatables, so it is said, in tho name of a settler. Tho Lad was returned to the orphanage.
