SYDNEY SHOW SALES.
SYDNEY, April 9. The following show stock sales are reported:—Draught horses: On account of Messrs Hoult and Sons (Foilding), one at 70irs, and one at 80gs. On .account of Messrs Mitchell Bros. (New Zealand), ono at 75gs, and one at 85gs. On account of Mr Cox (Inveroargill) one at 90gs. April 10. The wood-chopping contest at the Royal Show was won by Meredith (New South Wales). "" Baron again secured the high - ?>», honours, clearing 6ft 9in. ( At the show sides 16 additional draught stallions were sold on behalf of New Zealand owners, at prices ranging from 25 guineas to 160 guineas. The latter price was obtained for Mr Andrew Chryetall's Sir Colin's Pride. The show has concluded. The total takings were £13,599, as compared with £10,856 last year. Five draught stallions have been sold on account of New Zealanders, at from 60gs to 145 gs. April 11. At the show sales Mr E. Short, of Feilding. purchased the draught mare Primrose for 305 gs. Four draught mares wore sold on account of Hoult arx] Sons (of Feilding) at prices ranging from 42trs to 52gs. The following show Kales are also announced: —Draught mares: On account of Mr Grant (Hawera) —seven at from 33gs to 47j>gs. On account of Mr Chrysta-1 (Lochiel) —three at from 40gs to 47gs. On account of Mr Mitchell (Manana)—three at from 43gs to 80gs. On account of Mr M'Clure (Christchiirch) —seven at from 29gs to On account of Mr Yaughan (Hawke'a Bay) —three at from 40gs to lOOgs. On account of Mr Has tie (Taieri) —four at from 40gs to 47<rs. On account of Mr Cullen (Cheviot) — eight at from 30gs to 51gs. On account of Mr Lawson (Gore) —four at from 40gs to 55L r s. On account of Mr Taylor (Woodend)—one at 32gs. On account of Mr Small (Ashburton) —one at 46igs. On account of
Mr Bourke (Opaki)—four at from 49gs to 54-gs. On account of Messrs M'Gaffen and Ward 'Jlawke's Bay) —seven ;,t from 25gs to 50gs. On account of Mr Jacobs (Leeston) — two at 50gs and 51gs respectively. On account of Mr Dowthwaite (Waimate) —four at from 47gs to 50srs. April 12. The following- sales were made at Ihe show: —On account of Mr Fairey, of Nelson, champion fat bullock £3l 10s, and a second price fat cow at £l2 10s.
