There are more pleasant things for children to eat than cordite, remarks a Sydney journal. At tho Ballarafc School a boy handed round what he called jelly bars, and his bench-mates ate them -with avidity. After a few minutes they were troubled like Titwillow, having a pain in their insides, and finally a dozen of them became seriously indisposed. Then it was discovered that tho juvenile host had extracted a quantity of cordite from some cartridges he had found. Jelly bars will not find ready takers at the Ballarat School for somo little time. Cyril Campbell, the little boy who was reported k> the Napier police some time ago as missing, was discovered wandering about Gisborne. Hi-, had taken the steamer from Napier. The little fellow has now been returned to his parents.
