BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.

HAMILTON. April 6. Some time ago the Board of Governors of the Hamilton High School vetoed a proposal by the head master to open the school with the Lord's Prayer and a passage from the Bible. At this week'* meeting a. motion to rescind the resolution caused a wordy war, but the motion was carried on the cast ins vote of the chairman. A motion to authorise the opening of the school with prayer and reading from the Bible was hotly contested, but wae carried on the chairman's vote. Numerous motions and amendment* left the main resolution unimpaired. A final resolution, instructing the head master to exempt the children of parents with conscientious objections was carried unanimously.
