MOTOR CAR ACCIDFNT.

AUCKLAND, April 1. A party, consisting of Mr and Mrs E. R. Bloomfield and their little daughter, and Mrs Rathbone and daughter, had a perilous adventure in returning from the West Coast yesterday. In company with two other motor cars they were tiaveiling on a road along the face of a cliff, with a sheer drop of 20ft to 25ft. Air Bloomfield's motor was driven to the edge to avoid a quagmire. The ground giving way, the car toppled over the embankment and skidded until brought up by a tree. The occupant* scrambled up the bank, leaving the car in a very dangerous position. A party was sent from town with gear, which proved inadequate. Another attempt is being made to-day to restore the car to terra firma.
