The Antarctic regions must present a most unusual spectacle at present, as no fewer than five expeditione are now journeving South Polewise. These are:—-Cap-tain Scott's and Dr Mawson's (British), Captain Amundsen (Norwegian), and the Japanese and German expeditions. A start has been made in favourable localities about Orepuki to harvest cooksfoot The 'crop in the bush districts is heavy and seed well filled. The Waiau Valley promises (says the Advocate) to becoma ae -famous as Banks Peninsula in the production of high-grade grass seed.
