MANCHISTER UNITY.

The half-yearly pui-plc lecture and degree meeting was hold at Outram on the 22nd inst., a fair number riding or driving out from town. The lodge was constituted as follows:—G.M., Bro. A. M'Dougall; N.G., Bro. A. Lawry; V.G., Bro. W. Cole; Secretary, Bro. Hopcraftj Guardian, Bro. G. Coughlan; Examiner, Bro. Neili: Conductors —Bros. Chishclm and Broadfoot. The degrees taken were: E.S. 7, V.G. 10, N.G. 9, P.L. 9. The various leotures were given by P.CM. Bro. A. Lawry, and were so well and impressively rendered as to evoke an expression of commendation from tho lodge. During tho evening the Chairman, on behalf of the Hand and Heart Lodge, presented P.G. Bro. J. Rodger with a P.G. sash and gold star, in appreciation of the zealous and faithful work done v by him. for his lodge during his journey through tho chairs. Bro. Rodger suitably replied. P.T. Bro. Harnel forwarded an 'apology for bis absence.

N.G. Bro. Johnstone, of the Loyal Outram Lodge, had the pleasure of presiding over a largo attendance of members, the muster being swelled by the presence of a contingent from town. These included members of the Centenary, Caversham, Albion, and Hand and Heart Lodges. The annual balance sheet, presented to the lodge by P.G. Bro. A. Bathgate (auditor), showed that the headway made in the sick and funeral fund was £?? n , it, now standing at £4653, while the management fund showed a credit of nearly £6O. The membership is 86, and the total sick pay amounted to £lls. Special reference w«e mode in the auditor's report of the death of Dr Catfcan, the lodge surgeon, after 23 years' service. Bros. M'Conncll (Centenary), Vincent (Moscriel), Rosevear (Hand and Heart), and Sullivan (Albion), and P.G.M. Bro. Lawry (District Executive) replied to the customary toast. Included in the correspondence of the Outram Lodge was the notification of the death of Bro. William Neilson.
