CHEESE AND BUTTER MARKET.

AUCKLAND, January 17. At present, in the works of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company, there are 28,400 boxes of butter to be shipped in consignments to Vancouver, West Coast of England, and London. Up to the present 194,094 boxes have’ been shipped this season, which compares very favourably witn 181,345' boxes for a like period of last season, representing an increase of about 6 per cent.

Mr J. R. Scott, secretary of the South Island Dairy Association, is in receipt of the following- London cable: “ New Zealand salted and unsalted butter, 1325; Danish, lo6s; New Zealand white cheese, 735; coloured. ?&.• 6d. Decline owing' to fear of strikes. Market closed steady.”
