Some residents of tho north end of Timaru say that a distinct shock of carthcinnke was" felt, in that locality shortly after 10 pm. on Monday, 15th inst. Crockery rattled in the houses, and some people who wore silting on tho Waimataital beach at the time say they were distinctly shaken. They add that the cpiako was accompanied by a low rumbling noise. Other*?, in town, even in buildings that are ea#ds shaken, fell nothing.
