SOLDIERS’ MEMORIAL. WAITARA, January 17. A meeting at Waitara last evening decided to take steps to raise subscriptions for the purpose of erecting a monument in the soldiers’ cemetery, on which it is proposed to inscribe the names of members of the regular forces and Volunteers killed in engagements around the Waitara district in the war of 1860-61, and also to properly attend to the care of the graves in future.
