A GALLANT CHILD
RAILWAY DISASTER AVERTED
NEW YORK, January 17.
Dean Martin, aged seven years, signalled with a flag the East-bound overland Limited train at Sacramento in time to prevent it striking a broken rail, and thus averted a certain wreck.
The company has promised the child a handsome reward in recognition of the bravery displayed.
