DICKENS CENTENARY
HELPING GRANDCHILDREN
LONDON, January 8
At the Charles Dickons centenary gala performance on Sunday at the Coliseginj 300 leading actors and actresses appeared in characters from Dickens's novels. Th« sum of £2500 was realised for the relief of fivj grandchildren, who are daughter* of Mr Charles Dickens, jun. The Daily Telegraph collected in addition £3882 for the same object.
