The following’ statistics regarding the rainfall in Dunedin for 1911 are supplied by Mr W. Jacobsen, engineer for tho Drainage Board: —January, 2.760 in ; February, .370 in; March, .540 in; April, 2.150 in; May, .400 in; June, 4.230 in; July, 1.330 in; August, l.lOOin; September, 1.240 in; October, 1.650 in; November, 5 070 in; December, 6.300 in ; —total, 27.200 in. Tho rainfall registered hero for tno 24 hours ended 9 a.m. was .625 points. Thunder and heavy rain from the S. W. to W. were experienced at 5.30 p.m. after a cloudy day. MOUNT PEEL, January 4. The rainfall registered hero on tho 2nd and 3rd inst. was 22.20 points. LAUDER, January 3. Tho rainfall registered hero for tho 24 hours ended 10 a.in. on Tuesday was 67 points. The rainfall registered for December was points. Rain fell on 18 days. It Is warm and muggy to-day. A few weeks dry weather is wanted badly to get tho shearing finished. Grass is plentiful, but tho crop will bo about & month late. LAWRENCE, January 5. Tho rainfall registered hero last month wa/s as followslst, 18 points; 2nd, 4 points; 3rd, 5 points; 4th, 35 points; sth,
10 points; 7th, 10 points; Bth, 5 points; Stir, 50 points; lOtn, 1 point; 11th, 16 points; loth, 15 points; 14th, 2 points; 15th, 18 points; 16th, 7 points; 17th. 14 points; 18th, 8 points; 19th, 1 point; 21st, 28 points; 22nd, 18 points; 23rd, 1 point; 24tli, 13 points; 25tn, 12 points; 26th, 1 point;—total, 2.93 inches. The figures for January are: —2nd, 49 points; 3rd, 5 points; 4th, 49 points;—total, 1.46 inches. The records were taken at 9 a.m. daily. BALCLUTHA, January 5. Tho total rainfall registered at Baiclutha during 1911 was 20.05 inches. Rain fell on 114, days. During the month of December there were over* 5 points of rain on 18 days, tho maximum being 38 points on the Bth. The total for the month was 3.02. In 1910 rain feLL on 85 days, and the year’s fall was 17.19 inches. In 1009 ra ; n fell on 103 days, the total being 22.69 inches.
