SOUTH AUSTRALIAN POLITICS
ADELAIDE, January 3. In the Assembly to-day the Premier announced that the Government had decided to ask for a dissolution. Ho referred to the constantly obstructive tactics adopted by the Legislative Council to all democratic measures. The debate on the Supply Bill is proceeding. January 4. The Government appealed to the Colonial Office in connection with the political crisis. The Imperial authorities declined to interfere in the internal affairs of a self-governing colony until every constitutional remedy had been exhausted. The Council last night carried a resolution, to be forwarded to the Imperial authorities, protesting against the Premier’s message to the Colonial Office, as it was incomplete and misleading. Both Houses passed Supply to carry the Government over the elections. It is understood there will be a dissolution in the middle of January, and that - the elections will take place early in February.
