MAIL TRAIN ROBBED

VANCOUVER, January 5. At Redding (California) two unmasked men held up and robbed the northernbound Oregon express train on the Southern Pacific Company’s road. The two men forced an entrance into the train near Red Bluff, bound and gagged three mail clerks, and then proceeded to leisurely rifle the sacks of mail matter. They escaped with a large booty. The clerks, when found, were buried beneath a quantity of torn mail sacks. NEW YORK, January 6.

Sheriffs’ posses are scouring the country as a result of the Oregon express robbery. It transpires that there was only one robber. A reward of £4OO has been offered for his capture.
