CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS. (Fnou Qua Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, December 29. \t the New Zealand axemen’s carnival, held at Eltham, the World’s Championship Chop, of £45, 2ft standing blocks was won by G. M'Oauley, with S. Johnson second, and W. E. Honey third. . , Tlio Double-hand Sawing Championship of Australasia, £l2, was won by C. O Rorke and Beban; Sullivan and mate second, Peclder and Love third. The Underhand Handicap Chop, of £SO. was won bv J. Richardson, with b. Morns second, and G. Hirst third. The Single-handed Sawing Handicap, of £lO, went to W. Western. _ The Now Zealand Championship Chop, 12in standing blocks, was won by C. O’Rorke, with D. Pretty second, and W. Weston third. , , The New Zealand Axemens Chop, ot £4O, 18in standing blocks, went to J. It-. Shewing, with A. Twimne second, and d. E. Richardson third. The Sawing Championship of the World, single-handed, 2ft logs, was won by W. Weston, with A. E. Sullivan second, and Kindbcrg third. , WELLINGTON, December 31. The Upper Hutt axemen’s carnival was held on Saturday in perfect weather when there was a large attendance. in the Double-handed Sawing Handicap V\ eston and C. O’Rourke lowered the world s record bv one and a-fifth seconds for the 18m log. Weston holds the world’s championship fo r single-handed sawing, and O Rourkc holds with Eedan the double-handed championship of Australasia, both being won at Eltham last wek.
