In the course of a short speech at a luncheon tendered Mr A. L. Herdman, M.P., in Eketahuna, Mr Sykes stated that they had in their midst a corning Cabinet Minister. In hia reply, Mr tlordman said it was not his ambition to become a Cabinet Minister. It was his ambition to put out of office a Ministry which had done incalculable harm to the country. When this had been accomplished ho would bo quit© prepared to return to private life.
