SOUTH OTAGO TOURNAMENT.
The annual tournament promoted by tba South Otago Centre of the New Zealand Bowling Association was commenced on Monday at Balclutha and Kaitangata. The tournament opened with in the Rinks Match. The weather conditions wore ideal, and the two greens in use were in good playing order. The entries 'for this year’s tournament are comparatively poor, and this is probably duo in a very large measure to the fact that the play in the championship (tournament being he’ld in Dunedin had not concluded when entries dosed on Friday evening. Balclutha, Stirling, and Kaitangata Clubs are well represented, but very few entries have boon received from outside. Dunedin players have figured prominently in the centre’s previous tournaments, but this year there is only one rink, from the Roslyn Club, present.
